Sampdoria slaps €15m price tag on starlet Icardi

Sampdoria have slapped a fee of €15m for their new starlet, Mauro Icardi, as the strikers agent rebuffed Sampdoria’s offer of a new deal.

“We’ll evaluate Icardi’s future in June,” sporting director Carlo Osti told reporters.

“However, his representative has turned down our attempts to extend his current agreement – one which I considered was more than dignified.

“How much will he cost? His value could be close to the €15m mark, but his value will rise if he keeps scoring like this…”

The rumour mill is suggesting Inter Milan are leading the race to sign the 20-year-old Argentine forward, who was part of the Barcelona youth set-up.

Mauro Icardi has netted nine goals in 21 Serie A matches. His contract expires in 2014.
