Sampdoria starlet nowhere close to signing new deal
The agent of Sampdoria starlet Simone Zaza, who is loan at Ascoli this season, has revealed his client is “very far” from signing a new contract with the club.
He joined the club from Atalanta in 2010 but the negotiations are facing an uphill struggle to reach a positive conclusion due to the player’s requests.
Speaking with TMW, Christian Maifredi said: “Maybe a deal is out of Sampdoria’s parameters. Personally, I think that the terms we have asked for are modest when you consider how well he is playing.
“They want him on reduced terms but we do not agree this should be the case because he joined on a free transfer and when you consider his age and the amount of goals he has scored, then the requested figures are in line with the current market.”
When asked how close a deal was to being done he was not confident, while also speaking about the 21-year-old’s future.
“We are very far away from agreeing a negotiation and I have already spoken with the club twice and will have no further meetings,” he said. “I hope he continues to score goals and then we will see again in May.
“He has a contract until 2014 and is of interest to many teams.”
