Torino To Miss Defender Through Injury
Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna is set to miss more time through injury after tests confirmed he had sustained an inflammation of his thigh during the defeat at Parma on Sunday afternoon, an injury that caused him to leave the field during the second half.
Ogbonna limped off while the score was 1-1 before seeing his teammates concede three goals in the final thirteen minutes to lose the game 4-1. It is particularly frustrating as the Italian international had only just returned to the Torino team after missing a couple of months with a hernia.
According to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 24-year-old will be missing for around ten days, which would rule him out of the Torino’s game with Lazio on Sunday evening, though should mean he can return for Torino’s next game, the visit of Napoli to the Stadio Olimpico on March 31st.
Ogbonna, capped five times by Italy, has found himself in and out of the Torino team this season, playing only eleven times for the team so far. However, both player and club will be relieved that this is a shorter lay-off than his previous one, as rumours suggest he will be leaving Torino in the summer, with Milan said to be a likely destination.
