Totti: Prandelli’s words are an incentive to do well
Francesco Totti has expressed his thanks to Cesare Prandelli after the Azzurri coach had touted the idea of him making a return to the national squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Roma legend was flattered by Prandelli’s remarks during a press conference at national team headquarters Coverciano, and took to his personal blog to express his thoughts on the national team as well as Roma’s season so far.
“Compliments always please me and in this period I’m getting [a lot] from from coaches, colleagues, and many people who live and work in football,” he wrote on his website, francescototti.com.
“I want to thank everyone and also coach Prandelli because his words are certainly an incentive to do well.”
“From now until the end we believe that we can reach a position in the table that will allow us to play in Europe. Of course, [right now] I am focused on the present and I am only thinking about the [upcoming] challenge with Palermo.”
“I cannot wait to return to the field with my teammates to continue our winning streak and I am full of desire and enthusiasm.”
Totti has spent his entire professional career at Roma, becoming a club icon in his 20 years with the capital club, 15 of which have been spent as the captain. His second half strike Sunday in a 2-0 defeat of Parma was his 226th goal and now places him only behind legendary striker Silvio Piola in the all-time Serie A scorers list.

That would be awesome if he comes back for WC 2014.
NO TOTTI NO PARTY!
