Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura praised his side’s performance as the Blaugrana dismantled AC Milan 4-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Lionel Messi scored his first goals from open play against an Italian opposition, and his brace helped the Spanish giants overturn their first leg deficit.

“It isn’t a normal thing to win 4-0 against a team like AC Milan,” Roura told Sky after the match.

“They are a great club and they made qualification difficult for us.”

“Messi? Like all the other players he was criticized in the leadup but tonight he showed that he can still play our type of football.”

“Dedication to Vilanova? It is very important for him, luckily he is doing well and he will join us soon. It will be important to welcome him back with open arms.”
