Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has hit out at the players the club brought in during the January transfer window in an attempt to beat the drop.

They have had little impact as yet in truth with the club remaining rooted to the foot of the table and the Rosanero patron has hit out at the new recruits.

He toldĀ Gazzetta dello Sport: “The market did not go well, it was insane in January and the reinforcements that we brought in are a disappointment.”

The Sicilian side made 10 signings during the mercato including Salvatore Aronica, Diego Fabbrini, Mauros Formica and Boselli and Alejandro Faurlin.

However, there has been no great upturn in results leading Zamparini to publicly criticise their performances to date.
