Marco De Marchi, agent of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, has brushed off transfer rumors linking the 22-year-old with a Fiorentina switch in the summer.

The Viola are reportedly interested in the Anfield man, but De Marchi has gone on record telling TMW that Borini has no desire to switch clubs as he remains happy at Liverpool.

“I’ve heard the Fiorentina rumours, but there has been no direct contact,” De Marchi said.

“Fiorentina are a club on the launch pad, they have laid the groundwork for an important project by signing great players and results will soon arrive.

“However, Borini has married the Liverpool project and they are one of the most important clubs in the world.”

Borini’s season has been marred by injury, with both a broken foot-bone and a dislocated shoulder hampering his time on the pitch.

However, the former Bologna, Chelsea, Swansea and Roma man is not deterred by this, and claims he’d like to reach fitness in time to partake in Italy’s Under-21 challenges this summer.

“He wants to return to action by the end of the season so he can take part at the Under-21 European Championship with Italy,” De Marchi commented.
