Fiorentina have opened talks with striker Luca Toni about signing him a new deal to keep him at the club next season.

He rejoined the Viola on transfer deadline day last summer in a deal worth €500,000 to him for the campaign but could net a new contract, something that both parties are keen on.

Calciomercato believe that initial talks were opened in mid-March and could soon reach a positive conclusion that would see him stay at the Artemio Franchi for one more year.

In the past few days, the 35-year-old has been looking at a new house in the Borgo Pinti area of Florence while his girlfriend Marta Cecchetto has also signed a renewal to her contract with the Region of Tuscany’s Tuscan Showcase.

Not only that but she is expecting a child in six months and the couple would like the child to be born in Florence.

He has seven goals in 14 starts since returning to the Gigliati for his second spell there.
