Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco is set to miss the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final draw against Bayern Munich  due to injury.

Giovinco was stretchered off during his side’s 2-1 win over Pescara Saturday after sustaining a heavy challenge in the first half.

Tests show that the Italian international suffered heavy bruising on his right knee and the collateral medial ligament as well as a small bicep strain.

The club announced that Giovinco’s condition would be further evaluated over the next few days, and although no serious damage occurred, the injuries will still most likely keep him out of the crucial second leg to be held at Juventus Stadium this week.

Giovinco has made seven total appearances in the Champions League this season, scoring two goals.

Juventus will already be without both Stephan Lichtsteiner and Arturo Vidal for the Bayern match due to yellow card accumulation.

The Bianconeri lost the first leg 2-0 in Munich on April 2.
