AC Milan defender Daniele Bonera has insisted that the strike partnership of Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy will come good in time.

It has been suggested that El Shaarawy’s development has been stifled by the arrival of SuperMario at the San Siro, leading to speculation about the likelihood they can play together.

“Balotelli has only just arrived,” Bonera told Sky Sport Italia.

“There is a process of growth that needs to occur between himself and El Shaarawy because they have yet to really get to know each other.

“They haven’t had the opportunity to play in that many games together and certain mechanisms on the pitch need to be refined.”

El Shaarawy has scored just once since Balotelli joined the Rossoneri, while the former Manchester City man has bagged seven in eight games.
