Palermo have revealed that they will be open to offers in May for star midfielder Josip Ilicic.

The Slovenian has not enjoyed his best season in Sicily, and nor have the club, but he contributed with a goal and match-winning performance against Roma last weekend.

Speaking with Romagiallorossa.it, Palermo chief Giorgio Perinetti said: “Josip is one of our top players and is a key component in our bid for survival.

“He must continue to improve though and produce the same quality football but when the season is finished, no matter what result we get, we will evaluate the various offers.

“We are aware that Palermo players have personal ambitions but today we are thinking only of the goal of survival,” he continued. “We refuse to be distracted by rumours, negotiations or renewals.

“From late May onwards we will listen to requests and offers.”

The 25-year-old is a big target for Roma among others.
