Paul Pogba - JuventusFormer Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson warned Paul Pogba that Italy was full of racists before his move to Juventus.

The 20-year-old joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer last summer from the English champions, though, United did want him to stay at the club.

“Ferguson shouted at me and said: ‘Where are you going? To Juve, to Italy? Do you know what there is out there? They’re all racist,’” Pogba told France Football.

“He said the fans were not like they are in England. I replied there was racism everywhere, so I just wanted to play football so I could gain experience and improve.

“Ferguson noted ‘ok’ and then never let me play for Manchester United again.”

Pogba made 27 Serie A appearances last season, scoring five goals.
