Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has stated he will reconstruct the club to fight for immediate promotion if they are relegated to Serie B.

The Rosanero lost a heartbreaking match by a score of 3-2 to Udinese on Wednesday, while Genoa and Torino strengthened their survival campaign with a scoreless draw.

“The side gave it their all, there is nothing much more to say about yesterday’s defeat,” Zamparini told Palermo News.

“We scored two goals, the problem was that we conceded three. Nevertheless, we’ll build a great Palermo to start again.

“That will certainly include myself, boss Giuseppe Sannino and director Giorgio Perinetti. I’m already spending the morning working on the Palermo of the future.”

The Rosanero have changed coaches five times this season, with Giuseppe Sannino, Gian Piero Gasperini and Alberto Malesani all having time in the coach’s seat.

Sannino, who was sacked in September after three matches, was re-appointed in March and has improved the club’s results greatly.

However, the club have lost two straight matches and will now face the difficult task of playing Fiorentina and Parma in their final matches.
