Stevan Jovetic has spoken of his dream of winning Serie A with current club Fiorentina and expressed his pleasure at the style of football employed in Florence by coach Vincenzo Montella.

Discussing various elements that have shaped his career so far, the Montenegrin star spoke of European interest, Serie A, the qualities of Borja Valero and attempting to reach the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

“Partizan [Belgrade] means so much to me.” Jovetic told CanalPlus.es.

“Five years I lived in a beautiful city and was the youngest captain in the club’s history.

“There was some [interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid], when I was at Partizan, but it was for their youth teams, and now I still do not know anything.

“I had other offers from England, Netherlands and Germany, but when I learned of the Italian offer I immediately said yes.

“Tactically this football is very different, in the beginning I could not do anything.

“The work was hard, I did not know the movements and did not know what to do.

“Winning the championship with Fiorentina is a dream, and I am optimistic.

“The important thing is to play the ball and play our game.

“This year, we bought so many strong players and have fought for the Champions League.

“Montella is good, he makes us pass the ball and there is not only the race [for league places].

“Every coach has his own style, with him we play at all times.

“From Valero I expect so much, I knew him before he came here because I follow Spanish football.

“When he came we saw immediately that he knew how to play football.

“In Spain they have more fun on the field, I really like this.

“I would like to play in the World Cup in Brazil, we are doing well with Montenegro but still everything is at stake.

“Qualifiers are difficult, you have to prepare for every match.

“We are young, but we have a good experience too.

“Hopefully this is the right time for qualification.”
