Former Brazil star Bebeto has warned Juventus that they could lose out to Real Madrid in the race to sign his son Mattheus if a deal is not finalized soon.

A deal seemed to have been reached between the Bianconeri and Flamengo, as all that was a needed was for a document to be received by the Brazilian club.

However, the 1994 World Cup winner told Gazzetta dello Sport that Real Madrid could swoop in and sign his son.

“Juventus have shown great interest in him and I know a five year contract has been agreed in principle,” the former Brazilian striker stated.

“However, Juve must pay €1m up front because his contract expires at the end of December.  As soon as that arrives, he will leave for Turin.

“The problem is that Flamengo aren’t letting him play anymore given that they know he is leaving and he can’t afford not to play the rest of the year.”

“He has a lot of offers and if Juventus don’t define everything by May 10 then we would consider ourselves free to talk to Real Madrid who have made us a good offer.”
