English Premier League side Manchester City are hot in pursuit of Lazio midfielder Hernanes.
The Brazilian has attracted a whole host of admirers from sides around Europe including AC Milan and Tottenham.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport are now reporting that the Sky Blues are in pole position to sign the twenty eight year old after the former Sao Paulo man refused to renew his contract until 2017.
This has made Hernanes’ position unstable in the capital as his contract expires at the end of the 2013-14 campaign.
A meeting is scheduled before the end of June to see if this issue can be resolved between Hernanes and Lazio.
