Cesare Prandelli, ItalyItaly coach Cesare Prandelli has admitted he is looking into dropping Roma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo after his falling out with coach Aurelio Andreazzoli.

Osvaldo is said to have insulted his coach after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat in the Coppa Italia final against Lazio.

He then took to his Twitter account to hurl further abuse at his coach, and as a result his place at this summer’s Confederations Cup is in doubt.

“I need to reflect in order to understand what has happened. I want to talk with the leaders at Roma and then you will know if there will be any consequences,” Prandelli told reporters today.

“I have to take things into consideration as I did not see what happened. If we have to take action we will take action.

“His tweet? I won’t comment.  I want to do this in a serious manner. I repeat, I first want to confront it and then make a decision.

Prandelli was talking at the first day of Italy’s training camp in light of Friday evening’s friendly against San Marino, and touched on several topics surrounding the team.

“Resting [Andrea] Pirlo? It is a pleasure for me to watch him with the national team. If he has to recover we will give him a specific training schedule. If you are motivated even when you are tired you can still work well.

“The question of racism? We will talk about it in the upcoming days. We must be capable to confront these uncomfortable issues as a team. We have already done it in the past and we will continue to do so.

“Sau’s call-up? We followed him for several matches. He is a modern striker that can be used in several positions thanks to his technique and speed. He is one of those player’s that helps the coach out.”
