Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli could miss out on the Confederations Cup due to his nagging Achilles tendon injury.
The Bianconeri star helped guide the club to their second consecutive Scudetto.
However, the 32-year-old has been unable to train regularly due to the reoccurring injury.
With Cesare Prandelli set to name his 23-man squad on Monday, there is growing concern that Barzagli will be left off the team if he unable to show he can return to being 100% fit.
The tournament runs from June 15-30 and sees Italy in Group A with Mexico, Japan and Brazil.
