MarottaJuventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has shed some light on the Bianconeri’s summer transfer targets, along with Mauricio Isla’s potential move to Inter.

Speaking on Thursday evening Marotta identified Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez and Stevan Jovetic as potential targets and reiterated their desire to retain Italian international Claudio Marchisio this summer.

“Higuain? I do not want to mention names in particular, we have taken some time on [Fernando] Llorente who is a world champion and European champion,” Marotta told Sky Sports Italia.

“I do not want to say too much, there is still a lot of time available.

“The profile of our players is eclectic, as there is a need for participation in attack and defence.

“We have a successful model. There are very few matches where we did not score, but we will try to improve ourselves by taking advantage of the possibilities offered by the market.

“Preferences between Tevez, Higuain and Jovetic? They are three elements that belong to big clubs, so it is not correct to talk about it. I do not want to create illusions.

“There is interest from Inter for Isla, but that is not enough to take things further.

“We’ll evaluate together how to move. We have invested in him because he is a very good footballer.

“He has suffered a serious injury, but we have yet to see the real Isla  in Turin. There are several requests for him, but there is still no decision.

“There is no summit planned for Marchisio as there is a clear and direct relationship. There is a case, but we never thought of putting him on the market.

“I’ll talk with him after the Confederations Cup as I will with other elements of our squad. We will try to keep him close because he is an essential element.”
