Vegar Eggen HedenstadImpressive performances for Norway by Vegar Eggen Hedenstad and Stefan Johansen during the European Under-21 Championships have resulted in interest from Serie A sides Sampdoria and Chievo.

After drawing with hosts Israel and defeating England the Norwegians drew 1-1 with Italy to take second place and progress to the semi-final versus Spain.

According to Sky Sports Italia, the two clubs concerned would have been following the youngsters as they failed to help their country proceed to the final, losing 3-0 to the Spaniards.

Full-back Hedenstad only moved to German club Freiburg last summer, signing a four-year contract, and the 21-year-old Sampdoria target made 16 Bundesliga appearances.

Chievo’s interest in Johansen will be boasted by the fact that the 21-year-old midfielder is still playing his club football in the country of his birth with Stromsgodset.
