didac vila milanSpanish side Real Betis have signed left-back Didac Vila on loan from AC Milan.

The Verdiblancos announced the news in a statement released through their official website on Thursday, confirming that the 24-year-old had passed his medical and finalised an agreement with the club.

The left back will spend the 2013-14 campaign at Betis on a season-long loan deal.

Didac Vila came up through the Espanyol youth academy and joined AC Milan from the La Liga club in 2011. He then spent the 2011-12 campaign on loan at his former team, making 37 appearances for the Barcelona side.

The Catalan international was close to joining Valencia on loan for the 2012-13 term, with the option to permanently sign him at the end of the season, but the player failed his medicals and was forced to remain with the Rossoneri.

The defender was formerly a part of Spain’s international youth teams and won the 2011 UEFA Under-21 Championship with the Under-21 squad.
