Marcos Rojo Sporting LisbonAC Milan have taken an interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo as a replacement for the injured Daniele Bonera.

The Rossoneri lost the central defender to a kneecap injury and have been looking to acquire a stand-in centre-back.

According to Sky Sport the Argentinian is the latest name to be linked with a switch to the San Siro giants.

Inter’s Matias Silvestre had been close to joining and Milan are also considering making an offer for Genoa’s Andreas Granqvist.

Rojo is part represented by Doyen Sports, a company Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has been in contact with lately.

The 23 year-old does not hold an EU passport and therefore could scupper Milan’s bid for CSKA Moscow’s Keisuke Honda.

The former Spartak Moscow central defender played 35 games in all competitions last season for Sporting.
