CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda has agreed personal terms with AC Milan.
The Japanese international has signed a four year contract and will earn €2.5m per year.
Sky Sports Italia reported the news following a meeting between Honda’s agent and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Following the negotiations, Galliani contacted CSKA Moscow to inform them they had reached an agreement for Honda.
The Rossoneri will need to decide whether to make the purchase now or wait until January when the player’s contract expires.
Any move could hinge on how quickly Milan tie-up the transfer of Robinho, who is expected to return to Santos.
Gazzetta dello Sport had claimed the Russian side wanted €7m for Honda but the fee could be lower.
CSKA Moscow recently signed Bulgarian youngster Georgi Milanov who could be a long-term replacement.
The 27 year-old would be the club’s first Japanese player should he arrive.
