El Shaarawy delighted to break goal drought

Stephan El Shaarawy celebrates giving Italy the lead against France in Parma was happy to finally find the back of the net , even if it was in a penalty shootout.

Il Faraone has suffered a dip in form having scored only once in 2013, and there were doubts whether he would start against after Prandelli questioned his character and fitness levels.

The striker ,though, stepped up and converted a penalty against Uruguay in the third place playoff.

“Finally… even if it was in a penalty shoot-out…. at least it went in!” the forward wrote on Twitter.

“Immense satisfaction and compliments for everyone. Great character and great heart!! We are third!”
