Having previously signed striker Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal, Fiorentina are continuing their focus on the Spanish club, by looking to purchase central defender Mateo Musacchio.
Sportitalia report that Fiorentina are ready to bolster their defence by signing the 22-year-old Argentinian, who has made 139 appearances for the Spanish team, Musacchio previously played for Villarreal B after he was signed from River Plate in 2009.
Vincenzo Montella’s Tuscan side have been active in the recent transfer window with notable signings such as the €20 million purchase of the prolific striker Mario Gomez from Bundesliga and European champions Bayern Munich.
