Napoli have been linked with a move for River Plate’s young defender Eder Alvarez Balanta.
The highly rated 20-year-old only signed his first professional contract with Los Milionarios earlier this month but Azzurri coach Rafa Benitez is interested in signing the Colombian.
The Partenopei are ready to line up an offer for the defender, who was valued at €12 million by the Argentine giants earlier this year, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Balanta grew up in the River Plate youth academy before becoming an official member of the first team in 2013 when he made his debut against Racing Club.
He has since gone on to make nine appearances for River while scoring two goals.
