Bruno Martins IndiAfter securing a number of attacking reinforcements this summer Serie A side Napoli have switched their focus to signing a centre-back and are apparently considering moves for Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel, Davide Astori of Cagliari and Bruno Martins Indi of Dutch side Feyenoord.

On Monday Pepe Reina officially signed on loan to help strengthen the Partenopei rearguard for their Scudetto and Champions League challenges next season and it appears former team-mate Skrtel could be Rafael Benitez’ first choice.

According to Il Mattino the Spanish coach’s knowledge of the 28-year-old Slovakian during their time at Anfield could mean he is the most likely candidate, however, Astori has also been strongly linked with a move to Naples.

The 26-year-old Italian was also a reported target for AC Milan earlier this summer, but the impending transfer of Inter defender Matias Silvestre to the Rossoneri could mean Napoli would have no rivals should they make a move.

During an impressive season with Feyenoord last term Martins Indi, 21, caught the eye of potential suitors after making his Netherlands debut land going on to make a further nine international appearances and scoring twice.
