Pablo Osvaldo RomaNew Roma coach Rudi Garcia believes that striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo will need to adjust his attitude if he wants to succeed at the club.

Although he praised the Argentine-born Italian international’s skills following a 1-1 friendly draw with Turkish side Bursapor, he opined that the 27-year-old’s behaviour will cause problems unless if he makes some serious modifications ahead of the upcoming season.

“He is a great striker, but his personality is a serious issue,” the former Lille manager told reporters following the match.

“[For instance], in my opinion, he shouldn’t have reacted to the fans’ jeers, although I do understand it’s hard not to do when you’re being insulted.

“But, I feel that Roma certainly will be a stronger team if he remains with us.”

Osvaldo signed for Roma from Espanyol in 2011 and has netted 28 times in nearly 60 appearances for the capital club.

Despite this, he has been linked with a move away from the Giallorossi following a public spat with former manager Aurelio Andreazzoli following their Coppa Italia loss to Lazio this past season.

Premier League sides Southampton and Tottenham, as well as Russian team Zenit St. Petersburg have all been linked with the striker, but he is reportedly keen to keep plying his trade in Italy’s top flight.
