Roma icon ‘fascinated and happy’ ahead of MLS All Star clash

Francesco Totti - Roma legend is fascinated by the opportunity to take on an All Star team as part of the Giallorossi’s North American tour.

The game in Kansas City is the first of four stops which will see Rudi Garcia’s side land in Boston, Toronto and Washington D.C.

“For me, it is very nice and important to play against many big players,” the 36-year-old revealed at a press conference to mark the occasion.

“It is fascinating for me and especially for my Roma team-mates because it is the first time we will play against a team like this, with the MLS All-Stars.

“We are happy we have been invited for this match and of course we are happy to see Marco Di Vaio, one of my good friends.”

Roma begin their 2013-14 campaign Serie A campaign away to Livorno on the first matchday of the Serie A season.

About the Author

- I'm an 18 year old student who lives in Hertfordshire, England. My first experience of football was at Portman Road, home of Ipswich Town, in 1997 and is where I first fell in love with the game. Ipswich will forever be my team but I have a huge soft spot for AS Roma. Francesco Totti is one of my all time favourite players and the Roma kit printed with his name was one of the first football shirts I owned. I have only visited Rome once but was captivated by the city's culture, history and now its football team. As well as writing on this site, I also follow the MLS and write about the league for MLS UK. You can follow me on Twitter: @1bberson.
