Lazio midfielder states desire to become a club icon
The 26-year-old, who is currently co-owned with Udinese, has become a key contributor at the capital club since joining in 2012.
His performances have lead to a call up for the Italian national team, and the former Ternana youth product was a key contributor for Cesare Prandelli’s side as they finished third at this summer’s Confederations Cup.
“I want to stay here at Lazio,” he told Sky Sport.
“I am doing great here and I want to become an idol like [Cristian] Ledesma, [Stefano] Mauri and so many others have become.”
Candreva made 47 appearances in all competitions for Lazio last season, scoring seven goals as the club finished last season as Coppa Italia winners.
