Agnelli: Juventus aim to win everything this season
The Old Lady started off their 2013-14 campaign with a impressive 4-0 Supercoppa Italiana victory over the Biancocelesti and the club president has hopes that things will only get better.
Agnelli spoke to Rai Sport after the win on Sunday and admitted that he’s happy to start on a positive note.
“It was very important to start with a step forward,” said the 37-year-old.
“For us, only the results on the field count. Everything else just results in small talk.
“We know this will be a difficult year and we are pleased to have started on the right foot.”
Antonio Conte has reportedly been harder on the squad in the days leading up to the Supercoppa Italiana, but the executive claims that it wasn’t due to a lack of confidence.
“It’s not an issue of satisfaction. We know through experience of 100 years of history that this team can succeed.
“We’ve already previously won three league titles in a row.
“We just know that this season will be difficult and we plan on giving our 100%, maybe even more.”
The Bianconeri would like to excel in the Champions League this season as well, though they understand that it will be hard to conquer in Europe.
“Juventus aims to win every competition in which they participate,” continued Agnelli.
“To win in Europe is a dream, but we know that it will be difficult because European competitions have many other strong and competitive teams.
“We aim to win the Champions League, but it will be extremely difficult.
“Winning three Scudetti in a row would see us go down in history.
“First and foremost, however, we must continue to grow as we’ve been doing for the past three years now.”
