Cagliari defender will not move to Napoli
Talks were held on Tuesday at the Hotel Hilton, where it was expected that the 26-year-old would complete his move to the Stadio San Paolo for a fee between €12-14 million.
However, upon leaving negotiations with the Naples based side, Cagliari director of sport Nicola Salerno spoke to Tuttomercatoweb and confirmed that the deal was off.
“It’s all concluded. [Davide] Astori will not go to Napoli.”
Several clubs have been linked with the Isolani centre-back, and it remains to be seen whether he will stay in Sardinia or make the move to another of his suitors, which include Southampton and AC Milan.
A former Milan youth product, Astori has three goals in 145 appearances for Cagliari since moving to the club in 2008.
