Cagliari president will not sell to Napoli
Cellino was left with a sour taste in his mouth after negotiations with the Vesuviani after the move for Italian international defender Davide Astori broke down, as the Naples based side hadn’t contacted either the player or the club for several days.
Speaking to Sportitalia, the Rossoblu president sent a clear message to the San Paolo club, and has declared that he doesn’t want to do business with them in the future.
“I’ll never give Astori to Napoli, nor any other players, the good ones,” he said.
“For this year, I’ve decided to keep all of our players here. There is one certainty: We won’t be giving anyone to Napoli.”
With 26-year-old AC Milan youth product Astori now off-limits for Partenopei coach Rafa Benitez, he will have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements, and Valencia’s Adil Rami and Martin Skrtel of Liverpool have both been linked with the club.
