Catania terminate midfielder’s contract
The 27-year-old was sent on loan to Fiorentina last season, and although he returned to Catania, coach Rolando Maran didn’t consider Llama to be part of his plans for this upcoming season.
According to the club’s official website, Llama had his contract with the Etnei terminated by mutual consent on Wednesday.
Llama’s exit follows the departures of Francesco Lodi and Alejandro Gomez. Lodi signed for Genoa and Gomez has gone to Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv.
Catania vice-president Pablo Cosentino has stated that after the Etnei’s eighth-place finish last season, he is happy with the work done by Maran and sporting director Sergio Gasparin.
