Conte happy with Juventus progess
The Bianconeri finished last in the recent International Champions Cup following a defeat on penalties to Inter in the final match, but despite that disappointment Conte is happy with his side’s progess.
“Carlos is improving game by game,” he told reporters. “But it is obvious that he, Ogbonna and Llorente need to get to grips with the way we play.
“I’ve liked what I have seen of Ogbonna, I’ve liked that a lot. Llorente too who, once he has recovered from the hard pre-season, will deliver his best.
“The point is that this season will be very difficult. I’ve told that to the players and myself, seeing as I never won three Scudetti in a row.
“We need to remain focused and determined. People on the outside will say that we’ve already won, that it is a formality, that we are the best.
“You can fall into the traps, to believe you are the strongest and thus underestimate the dangers that lie ahead.
“It will be a super, super, super tough championship for so many reasons. We’ll face enormous difficulties, many different kinds of difficulties.
“I hear everyone talking about the Champions League, but I want people to understand that winning the Scudetto again would be something important and historic.”
