CSKA Moscow president: AC Milan behaviour disrespectful, Honda agreement ruled out
The 27-year-old Japan star has been linked with a cut-price move to the Milanese giants all summer with the player being in the final 6 months of his contract.
It appeared inevitable that Honda would be leaving for the San Siro giants in January when his contract in Russia comes to an end, with Milan keen to push through a move before the end of the summer transfer window.
However, speaking on Thursday to bobsoccer.ru Gilner condemned the Via Turati club’s conduct during negotiations for the player and claimed that due to the way they have behaved, an agreement is now impossible.
“Honda won’t be sold for €5 million, or for €10m,” he said.
“We could never accept such disrespectful behaviour.
“The Rossoneri contacted the player at the beginning of 2013 when they had no right to do so.
“If [AC] Milan had behaved correctly then we could have reached an agreement, but they tried to threaten us and cause a conflict between Honda and the club.”
The Japanese trequartista has an impressive 20 goals in 80 appearances for the Russian capital club since he made the move from Dutch club VVV-Venlo in 2010.
