Delio Rossi: Juventus the worst possible opponents
The two teams will come face to face at the Marassi on Saturday evening as the Bianconeri begin their title defence, going in search of their third consecutive Scudetto.
“Honestly, we couldn’t have been given a worse opponent for the first week of the season, but we will play our own game against a team who we beat twice last term,” he stated to SampdoriaNews.
“They’ve bought some world class players who are used to playing in European competition such as Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente. Angelo Ogbonna too, they are all champions.”
Rossi is still undecided as to which 11 players will start the game for the Blucerchiati but has named his 24-man squad for the encounter.
“Romero has gone, he has made his decision and we wish him well, but we have great faith in our goalkeeper Da Costa,” he said
“We are a good side, with a squad capable of achieving our objectives, but we can’t truly be judged until we have played a few games.”
Rossi has been at the helm in Genova since 2012, and steered the team clear of relegation last season with a sixteenth placed finish in Serie A.
