Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle has confirmed that Serbian forward Adem Ljajic is set to leave the Viola this summer.
The youngster has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Atletico Madrid, and despite the Viola’s attempts to sign him to a contract extension, the club confirmed he is set for an exit.
“Nothing in particular happened even if the player is a bit nervous and the coach decided to leave him at home,” Della Valle told Mediaset Premium after Ljajic was not included as a substitute in the club’s 2-1 victory over Catania on Monday.
“There is nothing else to say. He will almost certainly leave Florence this transfer window.
“We will never sell him to Milan? I never say never to any squad.”
Della Valle then also commented on the Viola’s impressive performance on Monday night.
“It is a good start. The squad showed a lot of personality against a squad that amongst the smaller teams is one of the best.
“Everyone did well, from [Juan Guillermo] Cuadrado to [Mario] Gomez and [Giuseppe] Rossi as well, who is not at 100%. I think that he will return to his past levels and will be taken into consideration by [Cesara] Prandelli.”
