Delli Carri: Gilardino is staying at Genoa
After a successful loan spell at Bologna, the Italian international returned to the Marassi this summer and Roma are understood to be very interested in signing the 31-year-old after they decided to sell Pablo Osvaldo to Southampton for €18 million.
“We have had no contact with Roma…Gilardino will stay with us. Alberto wants to earn a place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil while wearing the Genoa shirt,” Grifone sporting director Daniele Delli Carri told Pianeta Genoa 1893.
The former Milan striker joined Genoa in January 2012 from Fiorentina, but has he only scored four times in 14 Serie A games for the Marassi side.
