Genoa admit difficulty in purusit of AC Milan attacker
The club, who barely escaped relegation for the second consecutive season, were hoping to sign the young striker before the end of this summer’s transfer window, as new manager Fabio Liverani had earmarked the 18-year-old as the perfect addition to their squad.
And rumors of the Rossoneri starlet’s move intensified after president Enrico Preziosi met with Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani earlier this week only to see any possible deal stall due to complications.
“[To be honest], I think I can exclude [any possibility] of a swap deal between M’Baye Niang and Juraj Kucka,” he stated to Sky Sport Italia.
“Milan’s failure to acquire any of their transfer targets–Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow and Adem Ljajic from Fiorentina–have made talks with them more difficult.”
Nonetheless, he was more optimistic about some of his club’s other transfer targets, notably young striker Gonzalo Bueno who currently plies his trade for Uruguayan side Nacional.
“Bueno is a player that we like, a real quality player with good prospects who we’re looking to bring here.”
The Grifone may have to face some stiff competition from the likes of Livorno and Roma, who are also reportedly interested in the 20-year-old Uruguayan international.
