Genoa close in on Napoli striker
The 31-year-old started the 2012-13 campaign with Siena but was loaned midseason to Napoli, though, only appeared in six matches for the Partenopei and failed to score in any of them.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Genoa are close to signing Emanuele Calaio away from Napoli.
The idea behind the move will be to have Italian international Alberto Gilardino and Calaio side-by-side. The Rossoblu are without striker Ciro Immobile, who failed to meet expectations last season and has since moved on to Torino.
The recent arrival of Gonzalo Higuain and emergence of Lorenzo Insigne has Napoli confident that Calaio’s services will not be necessary.
Calaio has also interested Palermo, Chievo, and the Greek side PAOK.
