Genoa coach cannot wait to get started
New Genoa coach Fabio Liverani cannot wait for his Serie A coaching career to get started at Inter on Sunday evening expressing his excitement at the approaching debut whilst warning that it will be a tough task for his side.
President Enrico Preziosi has shown great confidence in the 37-year-old who he has promoted from the Grifone Prmiavera youth side, but Liverani insists that the players are adapting well to his methods.
“I could not have asked for a better start than to debut at San Siro,” Liverani told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Tomorrow will be an important test to see where we stand.
“As the days go by, the knowledge [of the players] is growing, but we still have a long way to go.
“Inter are a new collective, just like us, but have players capable of deciding a game by themselves. They are the favourites, but the pitch will do the talking.
“I’m excited for my debut in Serie A. I want to know if I can stay at this level.
“I have some doubts [over my formation]. I’ll change anything compared to the latest matches.
“Our identity remains the same and we will work on more formations.
“Walter Mazzarri deserves compliments, as he has been doing well for quite a while.
“This is a big game, big opponent, beautiful stadium.”
