Andreas GranqvistThe agent of Genoa’s Andreas Granqvist has announced that his client has no interest in moving to Queens Park Rangers.

Speculation had suggested the Swedish international could be included in a deal to take QPR’s Moroccan attacking midfielder Adel Taarabt to the Marassi.

However, in comments made to Pianetagenoa1893.net, agent Dario Canovi was adamant that the player is not on his way to Loftus Road.

“I don’t know anything about a possible exchange for Taarabt,” said Canovi.

Canovi suggested that Rangers are not a sufficiently prestigious destination for the 28-year-old.

“QPR were relegated to the Championship and that rules out the possibility of a transfer,” he continued.

“Even though I haven’t spoken with Andreas, I know him well.

“I don’t believe that he would want to go to a club that plays in a lower league.”

The agent also added that Tony Fernandes’s wealth is not enough to persuade the Swede to ditch the Grifone for the Hoops.

“It’s certainly not an economic issue.

“Even if they offer more money than he’s earning currently at Genoa, he won’t accept it.”
