Inter’s Cambiasso demands positive results
The Nerazzurri had a torrid time last season, with their early high-flying start brought to screeching halt due to injuries during the latter half of the season that saw them finish in a dismal ninth place, well out of contention for either Champions or Europa League football for this season.
However, the veteran midfielder is optimistic that his team will be able to make amends for last season’s disappointing finish and feels that the new regime changes in the form of a new manager and some key acquisitions will enable them to produce a more positive result in the league.
“When you play [for a team] like Inter, you always have to win,” he stated to Sky Sport Italia.
“And you have to keep producing positive results year after year. If you don’t, then you have to make up for not winning.”
The Argentinian midfielder also voiced his opinion on new manager Walter Mazzarri and believes that the former Napoli manager has what it takes to help his side back to winning ways this season, despite their poor pre-season performance in the United States this summer.
“He already has made an impact on the team, which may not be obvious to everyone, but hopefully it will become more readily apparent soon.
“Despite the [disappointing] results [during pre-season], it has helped us to evaluate how we play as a team, which should help us to grow even more.”
