Juventus agree contract extension with midfielder
Arturo Vidal’s agent has been in Turin to finalise talks over a contract extension at the club, which reports in Italy say has been verbally agreed.
The Chileans agent, Fernando Felicevich, is said to have met with Juve officials on Tuesday to discuss a deal which would see the midfielder remain at the club until 2018. According to Tuttosport a contract has been agreed in the region of €4 million euros plus bonuses.
Vidal has become a significant figure in Antonio Conte’s side, proving his worth last season as he contributed ten goals and eight assists to the Bianconeri’s championship campaign.
Such form has led to interest from Real Madrid, however Vidal was quick to comment on his status at the club. In July he told Canal 24 Horas, “The offers from big clubs like Real Madrid please me. Each player is fascinated by a club like them.
But I’m already playing for a top club and I want to stay here for a long time.”
Juventus will be hoping to secure an extension for the 26 year-old, which they will aim to make official once the player returns from the clubs pre-season tour in the United States.
