Juventus declare midfielder ‘indispensable’ in response to Arsenal interest
The 20-year-old France international has reportedly been the subject of interest from English sides Chelsea and Arsenal, but the Old Lady have told them that they hope to keep Pogba in Turin for years to come.
“Forget about Pogba,” Marotta told Tuttosport after a reported €20 million bid from the Gunners for Pogba.
“We do not have any intention of listening to any offer which may arrive for our midfielder.”
It has also been reported that the Bianconeri have been so impressed with Pogba’s form since he joined from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2012 that they are preparing to offer him a contract extension.
The proposed extension will add an extra year to Pogba’s current deal, keeping the 20-year-old with the Serie A champions until 2016, whilst his salary is expected to rise to bring it in line with the other top players at the club.
Pogba made 27 appearances and scored five times for Juventus during the 2012-13 Serie A season.
