Juventus forward linked with Schalke 04 switch
The 30-year-old Italian international has seen himself slip down the pecking order with the summer arrivals of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez, and has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Juventus Stadium by Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte.
According to Bild, Schalke see the Neapolitan hit-man as the perfect addition to their frontline, and are keen to swoop for him before the end of the transfer window with main striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar out injured.
Despite having Hungarian attacker Adam Szalai as a backup for the Dutchman, Die Knappen believe that Quagliarella would offer them a valuable third option in the striking department, and they are set to rival English sides Sunderland and West Ham to bring the player to the Veltins-Arena.
Castellammare di Stabia native Quagliarella has managed 26 goals in 79 appearances for the Bianconeri since signing from hometown side Napoli in 2010.
