Genoa CFC v SSC Napoli - Serie ALazio have been linked with a move for Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino as the club look to bring in another striker before the close of the transfer window.

The Biancocelesti are hard at work in an attempt to sign Galatasary striker Burak Yilmaz but have yet to reach an agreement with the Turkish side for the goalscorer.

As a result Lalaziosiamonoi.it reports that club president Cladio Lotito has held talks with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi in an attempt to open talks regarding a move for Gilardino.

Despite only returning to the Grifone earlier this summer after spending last season at Bologna, the 31-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club all summer with Roma and Inter having already been tipped as possible landing spots for the 2006 World Cup winner.

Gilardino signed for Genoa in 2011 from Fiorentina and has scored six goals in 17 appearances for the Grifone in that time.
