Lazio striker eyes final World Cup
Klose was interviewed by Kicker magazine regarding the situation to which he replied: “I assume that is what will happen with regards to the national team.”
The 35 year-old could also beat the World Cup scoring record if he scores twice to beat Brazil’s Ronaldo, but the player insists his focus is on winning the competition.
“The title with the team has top priority,” he said.
“If I can win the 2014 World Cup in Brazil that would be the greatest for me. Everything else would be secondary.”
Klose has entered the final year of his contract at Lazio and revealed he is open to a return to the Bundesliga.
“I want to play a good season, play the World Cup and then take it from there,” the Lazio hit-man claimed.
“I am still fit and still feel like playing football, then certainly the Bundesliga is an option.
“I can really imagine finishing my career in Bundesliga.” he concluded.
Klose made a total of 36 appearances for the club last season scoring 16 in all competitions.
