Lazio want Champions League football and further signings
This was in his pre-match press conference ahead of their league opener against Udinese, a team who his side do not fear whatsoever although he is wary of the threat a certain Zebrette striker will pose.
“We have done a thorough analysis of our Supercoppa defeat to Juventus and now we start the league which is a new chapter for us and we hope to realise our ambitions this season,” he said.
“We want to qualify for the Champions League and get as far as we can in the Coppa Italia and the Europa League and against Udinese we will give everything, as we did against Juventus.
“Our side have a lot of respect for Udinese but we do not fear them although in [Antonio] Di Natale they have a player who can make the difference but we must be convinced we can win it.”
On transfers he said: “Maybe we need a few more players and strong players will always be welcomed into our side but I am confident with the squad we have.”
